Pathways

ADHD Adult Pathway

Many adults seek therapy for ADHD after years of feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or exhausted from coping alone. Some come with a recent diagnosis; others are questioning whether ADHD might explain long-standing difficulties.

This pathway offers support for adults with ADHD at any stage, including late diagnosis. Therapy may focus on understanding how ADHD affects emotional regulation, relationships, self-esteem, identity, and daily life. We work collaboratively to make sense of patterns, reduce self-criticism, and develop strategies that feel realistic and compassionate rather than demanding.

Sessions are adapted to how your mind works, with flexibility around structure, pacing, and focus. The aim is not to “fix” you, but to help you feel more grounded, understood, and able to live in a way that aligns with who you are.

Children and Young People Pathway

Children and young people may struggle with emotions, behaviour, anxiety, self-esteem, or neurodivergence in ways that are hard for them to express.

This pathway provides age-appropriate, compassionate support for children and young people, including those with ADHD, autism, or emerging neurodivergent traits. Therapy offers a safe space to explore feelings, build emotional understanding, and develop confidence.

Where appropriate, parents are supported alongside the child, helping to create consistency, understanding, and emotional safety beyond the therapy room.

Parent Support Pathway

Parenting a neurodivergent child or a child who is struggling emotionally can feel isolating and overwhelming. Many parents seek therapy feeling unsure, exhausted, or worried they are “getting it wrong”.

This pathway supports parents to better understand their child’s emotional world, behaviour, and needs, while also making space for their own wellbeing. Therapy offers a place to reflect, gain clarity, and develop a more compassionate relationship with both your child and yourself.

ADHD and Menopause Pathway

For many women, perimenopause or menopause is the stage of life when ADHD traits become far more noticeable or difficult to manage. Coping strategies that once worked may no longer feel effective, leading to overwhelm, self-doubt, or a sense of losing control.

This pathway recognises the intersection between ADHD, hormonal change, identity, and emotional wellbeing. Therapy offers space to explore what has changed, how this stage of life is affecting you, and how to adapt with greater self-understanding and compassion.

Support often includes exploring burnout, masking, shifting roles, and redefining what “coping” looks like now, without judgement or unrealistic expectations.

Late Diagnosis Pathway (Adults)

Receiving a late diagnosis of ADHD, autism, or both can be life-changing. While this can bring relief and clarity, it can also raise feelings of grief, anger, sadness, or confusion about the past.

This pathway offers space to process the emotional impact of late diagnosis, including identity shifts, re-interpreting past experiences, and navigating relationships with a new understanding of yourself.

There is no pressure to move quickly. Therapy supports gentle integration, self-compassion, and making sense of what this diagnosis means for you now.

Trauma, Sexual Abuse, and Exploitation Pathway

Trauma can affect how we feel in our bodies, relate to others, and experience safety in the world. This includes experiences of sexual abuse, rape, or exploitation, whether they occurred in childhood, adolescence, or adulthood.

This pathway offers trauma-informed therapy, grounded in safety, choice, and trust. There is no expectation to disclose details before you are ready, and no pressure to revisit experiences in ways that feel overwhelming.

Therapy focuses on helping you feel more grounded and supported in the present, while gently making sense of the impact of what has happened.

Emotional Wellbeing and Life Transitions Pathway

Life transitions such as relationship changes, loss, identity shifts, burnout, or periods of uncertainty can leave people feeling unsettled or disconnected from themselves.

This pathway supports individuals navigating change, emotional overwhelm, anxiety, low mood, or self-esteem difficulties. Therapy offers space to pause, reflect, and develop understanding, helping you move forward with greater clarity, balance, and self-trust.
